Musical Directors

Kathleen Horsdal, a 31 year resident of SSI, has been a successful event

planner since arriving on the rock! Ten years with ‘SS Folk Club’, (six years

as Coordinator/Booker), years coordinating ‘Celebration of Canadian Writers’,

and producing many, many one-off Music and Performance Art Events, as

well her theatre chops in directing and backstage design work… Kath brings

a ‘Big Picture’ overview and uncanny intuition in sussing what is original

and fresh for ears and eyes.

Trish Nobile brings 40 years of experience in arts administration and management

and event production to contribute to the musical direction of the festival. Since

moving to Salt Spring in 1984, she has organized the music for SS Sea Capers in its

early years, and  has served on the founding boards of Off Centre Stage and

Artspring. Trish was the Artistic Director of the Salt Spring Festival of the Arts for

its successful 20 year run and is currently in her sixth year as AD for the Salt Spring

Folk Club.

Jeff Chamberland is a die-hard, music lover of all grooves and styles. A self-professed ‘festival officianado’, he has attended most every major festival in Western Canada. His enthusiasm and generosity in donating his time to bring good quality, emerging acts to the second year of our festival = great entertainment value for all ‘garlic heads’! Jeff is also our head electrical technician (volunteering!)
